Help with the MCRS Winter Party Dec 6 Print E-mail

snowflake.jpgWMB is sponsoring the Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support's Winter Party on December 6! Refugee and new Canadian families come together to celebrate the changing seasons and share a time of food, music and cultural dancing.

We are looking for individuals willing to prepare a pan of lasagna (drop it off at the church prior to the event), and volunteers to assist with set up, basic meal prep, serving food, helping with the children's program and the clean up afterwards. The time commitment depends on your role - set up begins at 4pm and clean up will finish by 10pm. If you are interested in helping in any of these areas, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Meals 4 Encouragement (M4E) Print E-mail

meals.jpgMeeting basic nourishment needs of folks just like you who are experiencing life's ups and downs, M4E aims to keep our freezer stocked with meals so we can serve our extended church community on very short notice by providing them with a meal(s) based on their specific needs.

Prepare your favorite freezer-friendly main course recipe that will serve 4-6 people, put it in a freezer container provided by M4E, attach a provided label, and deliver it to the church, frozen or ready to freeze. Meals that meet specific dietary restrictions i.e. non dairy; vegan; wheat free are most welcome.

Baking - every meal should have a sweet ending!
Would you think of M4E when doing your Christmas baking this year? Simply use a foil container for your nut free treats (completed ingredient labels are a must) and we can include dessert with the meals we provide.

Please pick up containers and supplies at the This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it throughout the week or ask at the Information Centre on Sunday Morning.

Walk a block Print E-mail
Parking continues to be a challenge for us. As often as possible, please park in our lot beside the Lexington Soccer Field to make room at the church for those who are visiting or who are new to our faith community. In addition, please respect our neighbours and do not park at Pinehaven Nursing Home, or across the street in the Christ Lutheran Church parking lot.
A huge thank you to those of you who already park in our lot down the street!
