Neighbourhood Groups
At WMB, we seek "to be a people transformed by Jesus Christ with faith to change the world". In order to see this kind of transformation in our lives and in the world, we need to be in community. At WMB, our main community expression is Neighbourhood Groups. Neighbourhood Groups are small groups of people who gather for three main purposes:
- Community- sharing our lives with others
- Communion – focusing on God through scripture and prayer
- Mission – being a blessing to our neighbours
...to follow Jesus and to experience and demonstrate His Kingdom in tangible ways.
We invite you to participate with us!
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Love your neighbour as yourself" (Matthew 22:37, 39).
How do I get involved?
Participate in the following:
Step 1: TK Reading Group
The Tangible Kingdom (TK) book reflects the focus and direction of WMB church and community, so it's a great intro to what we are about. You will explore, engage and dialogue about how Christ’s Kingdom is made tangible through the practice of community, communion and mission. Each participant will read chapters of the book The Tangible Kingdom prior to meeting for discussion. These focused groups meet for seven sessions at various times and locations.
Step 2: A Neighbourhood Group
Join an existing Neighbourhood Group! There are a number of Neighbourhood Groups seeking to live out Jesus’ ways of the Kingdom. All groups will grow in the practice of communion, community and mission. Related to mission, some groups are focused on a particular cause or passion for people (the poor, seniors, street youth, etc.) while others are focused on a particular geographic area such as your street, sub-division or school.
