The word Jesus used for peace is the Hebrew word 'Shalom'. Shalom is more than just the absence of conflict, it is the presence of the goodness of God. It implies wholeness and completeness. Jesus, the child who was born and who we celebrate at Christmas, was the Prince of Peace; God's instrument for restoring His creation back to Shalom with Himself.
