In the story of the lost sons (Luke 15), Jesus shows the Father embracing his younger son in love -  not only before he has a chance to clean up his life and demonstrate that he has changed, but also before he has had a chance to recite his repentance speech.
It is an example of the lavishness and prodigality in which our Father desires to welcome us all "Home".
