Loures, Portugal
The Ekks have been country leaders since 1992 and lead an emerging church on the outskirts of Lisbon. They also give leadership and vision for two more church plants in addition to other projects, including a church plant project among recent immigrants from Africa. They have seen much growth and many lives changed.

Portugal update . . .
Sharing some Blessings with you . .
.

Our ministry Team. Again and again, we are reminded of the incredibly good team God has put together here in Portugal. Each comes from a particular and distinct background. Each brings a special story, which makes for an incredible mosaic of God's Love and Grace from around the World. For instance Mente and Teresa talking about living in war-torn Angola, having to flee to Congo (DRC), living in the jungle and having bullets fly overhead. And then being given the opportunity to come to Lisbon and start a new life. They are now our leaders for the ministry among African immigrants, ...and what a vibrant growing community that is.

Or, take Joe and Paula Arrais Velez, our so very gifted "nationals" we have on the team. Both have grown up here in the greater Lisbon area, and over the many years God has lead them, step by step from their secular jobs into full‐ time ministry. They are our connection with the teens that may be marginalized by modern life. Joe is very willing to commit himself to be with teenage boys, help them with life skills and even take them to soccer practice as needed. This gives him a vantage point into their lives that most of us have not considered.

Walter and Nadya Klause, born in Kazakhstan, migrated to Germany and answered the call to ministry in Portugal, have been working tirelessly in helping with two new church plants among Russian speaking immigrants here in the Lisbon area. They will be missed as they go on a much deserved Home Ministry leave in Germany later in June.

Next, we are waiting expectantly for Marcos and Marcia Soares to return from their Home Ministry time in their home area of Curitiba, Brazil, in early June.

. . As Country Ministry Team Leaders we have the privilege of leading this group . .

And yes, we feel blessed by our great team at "home." We so much appreciate each and every one of you, church and individual alike. Without you, we would not be here. We are privileged to have committed people and a committed church behind us. Our hearts are warmed just thinking about you all. Just like I would not trade our team here in Portugal, so I would not trade you, our supporting base. You pray, write, encourage, challenge, and give. Thank You!

Together all contribute to the growth of the Good News of Jesus here in Portugal.

And now, as you think of us here in Portugal, could you remember us (and the team) in the work here. Pray for each of our 5 churches, as most are quite new in their faith.

Also pray with us for more workers. We so desperately need more long‐term workers. We have placements for one couple to assist with a new church plant right now.

God bless...

Thank you for your prayers,

Otto and Marjorie
