BARNABAS MISSIONS seeks to support people in practical ways during financially difficult times.

The difficulty may be due to limited income, debt or a sudden financial crisis, leading to difficulty in providing basic necessities. We hope to be the hands and feet of Christ by offering a listening hear; helping to set and reach goals; helping sort out finances and by discussing other community resources. Potential also exists for practical financial help in the hopes that it will allow individuals and families to reach their goals.

Barnabas Missions
offers support to people who attend WMB, but also to those in our surrounding community who do not attend a church. This support is made possible by the financial contributions of the individuals and families who attend Waterloo MB Church. We are excited about being invited into the journey of people's lives, and to witness God's care and provision for them.

Barnabas Missions
also offers the following means of practical support:
Crown Financial Budget Coaching helps people gain a handle on their finances and create a basic financial plan.
3 Strands is an opportunity to enjoy each other's company while learning skills such as cooking.
Our annual From Jesus with Love' Christmas Party provides gifts for children who otherwise would not receive anything at Christmas.

We hope that through the practical supports offered, individuals and families will be drawn to the God who loves them.

You can support this ministry by designating your givings to "Barnabas" or by contributing to our special Barnabas Missions offering in December.

Ways to be involved:

Be a
Budget Coach

Work one-on-one with individuals and families as they work towards balancing their budget and paying off debts.  Be involved in budget seminars outside of WMB in areas of our neighbourhood where living on a limited budget is a common experience.

Be involved in a Three Strands Group
Join a class in order to love Barnabas participants and surround them with a caring community.  Maybe you have an idea of another Three Strands group we could consider starting!

Pray for a Barnabas Participant

Ask your small group or family if they would be willing to commit to praying for a specific individual or family.  Encourage the family with birthday and Christmas cards!

Build into the life of a Barnabas participant
Go for coffee, get to know them, encourage and pray for them, allow them to care for and encourage you as well - become friends!  Many Barnabas participants are single moms who would appreciate the company.

 Join/ start a
Ladies'/ Men's
night out
Help lead a small group of Barnabas participants.  Encourage each other and share stories.  Studying scripture and prayer will be components of this group. Groups needed for both women and men.
