Bethlehem Baskets Print E-mail
In an effort to reach out and love people in and around our church and the broader community, we at WMB assemble and deliver baskets of encouragement at Christmas.

Christmas is often a very difficult time for people. It is a season when pain and loneliness can be most pronounced.

We want to spread some joy and share God’s awesome love to people in our community—so they can know they have God’s undivided attention and that they matter to us too. We also want them to know and experience that who they are and what they are is important to God. We want to show them that they are loved. Often, that is all that people want and need.

This amazing ministry has touched and changed many lives. As one family said, “This basket was the most support anyone had shown us after a very difficult year and it was from complete strangers. What an incredible feeling, to know that total strangers cared about us and our circumstances.”

We assemble a basket filled with “goodies” like flavoured coffee, nuts, soaps, candies, mugs, candles, etc. We must stress this is not a food hamper and not an attempt to promote WMB.

How Can You Help?

Financial Donations
Bethlehem Baskets are supported primarily through our General Operating Budget at WMB.

Prayer
Please pray that people would have their hearts warmed and lives brightened by this expression of love. Pray that the people who get these baskets would make a connection between our expression of love that God is making to them by sending Jesus as a baby in a manger that first Christmas.

From the Recipients of These Baskets:
We've received numerous cards of appreciation that we'd like to share with you!

"On Sunday, I received from your church, a beautiful gift basket along with a card with words of love and encouragement.  It was so much appreciated as I'm experiencing a difficult Christmas this year.  You can't imagine how this gesture of kindness and thoughtfulness has restored my faith in mankind.  Thank you so much for the generosity of the church and to whoever submitted my name, in this my time of need for love and support.  I have an idea of who it is, but would like to thank them personally."

"We were deeply touched to receive a
Bethlehem basket at Christmas time.  Thank you so much for including us in this outreach - a beautiful expression of God's love."

"Thank you for the
Bethlehem Basket.  I was so astonished that someone was thoughtful to think of me; it was a delightful surprise and brought tears to my eyes.  More importantly, was that someone was praying for me.  I have certainly had many trials this past year but God certainly has watched over me as well."

"Thank you for your most kind thoughtful Christmas basket of "goodies".  It is most cheering to be remembered while one is ill."
