Faith at Home

Faith at Home aims to support parents as they teach their children to follow Jesus.

Why do we hold Faith at Home Events?
It is the responsibility and privilege of the Church to support parents as they live out the process of learning to follow Jesus and as they train their children to do so as well. The Church and families must partner together in order to spiritually nurture the next generation.

What are the values behind the Faith at Home initiative?

  • God places children into families, and families into a church family where the journey of following Jesus can be lived out together.
  • The family is a place where children at a very young age can begin to meet God.
  • Families come in a variety of sizes and forms, but all are places where God's love and life are made present and real.
  • Spiritual training must begin early and continue throughout life.
  • We are all, young to old, co-learners together; we have much to learn from each other and much to give one another.
  • We, as the church family, pledge to give our intentional support to families in raising their children to be authentic followers of Jesus.
  • This support and mutual encouragement must continue through all stages of life.

How do Faith at Home events work?
These events are held for parents and children of specific ages. For each event, parents will be given the Biblical foundations and taught the rationale for a specific skill or spiritual discipline. Materials and resources will be provided for the families involved.

In the 2011-2012 ministry season, we are looking at ways to best incorporate Faith at Home into the new Sunday Morning format. As a result, no events are currently scheduled. Stay tuned for updates.
