When Troubles Come, Hold Your Position  - Karen West

The story of the Israelite people in 2 Chronicles 20 gives clear direction on how to deal with the difficulties we face in life. God's people didn't question why God was allowing a calamity to come upon them. Instead, they responded in faith even when they had every reason to believe their world was being completely shaken.  Typically, struggles cause us to either fight with everything we have, or run and hide as fast as we can! Yet, ‘holding our positions' when troubles come is the journey God calls us to embrace. And we can worship him even now, with a confidence that our ‘sureness' for the future is God himself, who calls us to faith beyond the ordinary.

The Summer Blogs - No Doubt?  Dean Sherk

Let's be honest, we all experience doubt one way or another on our spiritual journey. Let's talk about it!  Uncertainty, indecision, hesitation, distrust are words that describe our common experience. How we process our doubts and questions is critical to our spiritual formation. How have followers of Jesus typically processed doubt? Is the Church a safe place to ask our questions? What does the Bible and Jesus have to say about  this common experience?

Listen in and join the conversation. You may be surprised and encouraged to even embrace your doubts in your pursuit of faith and Jesus.

Faith - More Questions than Answers - Paul McIlwraith

The author of Hebrews 11, in the Bible, gives a glowing report of various people of Biblical history and commends them for their faith.
I used to feel frustrated when I read this passage of scripture. I felt so faithless compared to their steadfastness and obedience. Then I realized that their stories are recorded in more detail throughout scripture and their faith and obedience only grew as God engaged them in their fear, listened to their frustrations and grew their faith to a point that they were able to do all that was asked of them. It is in our engagement with God, our questions, doubts and fears, that He is able to grow our faith as well.
May you be encouraged as you look at these passages from this perspective.
