The wall has just been built, and the people are assembling about two days after its completion. It is the first day of the seventh month, which meant it was the Feast of Trumpets. This would be like an Israelite New Year - a time when no one worked and there was a celebration. But in Nehemiah 8 we find something different happening. A number of expressions came out as the Israelites gathered to hear from God. -
