What To Expect

Your first visit?

Welcome! We’re glad you are exploring how we might fit into what God has for you. Everyone is welcome at WMB. Our congregation is comprised of a diverse group of people, and each of us has a unique faith story. We are all at different points in our spiritual journey.

We want to help you know what to expect when you first visit us on a Sunday.

During most of the year, Sunday morning services are at  9:00 and 10:45am. The services are identical in nature. If you have children or youth, they will have a great time at one of our vibrant age-based Sunday morning programs during the 9:00 service. Adults and youth may choose to attend the Sunday Forum (a guided discussion around various topics) at 9:00, or the worship service during this time. Nursery and preschool care is offered during both services. Your children will have fun in a safe environment with our caring, qualified volunteers.

At the door, you will be welcomed by one of our greeters. Please feel free to stop by the Information Centre in the Foyer where our volunteers will help you with any questions you may have.

What should I wear and bring?

Dress comfortably. From blue jeans to ties, you are welcome! We are more interested in your heart than your wardrobe.

If you have a Bible, bring it with you. Our Pastor will refer to scripture during the teaching time of the service. There are Bibles available in the pews, and Bible passages will also be displayed on screens at the front.

What will happen during a Sunday service?

Ushers will greet you at the door to the Sanctuary, and may help you find a seat.

The programming of Sunday morning services varies each week, but in general, we have music led by an energetic worship band (you can participate by singing or simply listening), we share announcements about what’s happening in our faith community, we talk to God through prayer, and we hear a Bible-based, culturally relevant message from one of our pastors. Sometimes, we enjoy a video or drama, and we usually celebrate communion together on the last Sunday of each month. We also give financially to the work of the local and global church through an offering time, but if you are our guest, please do not feel obligated to give money.

We hope you will join us! If you have any other questions you would like answered before or after your first visit, please call the Church Office, 519-885-5330. Our staff would love to talk to you and help you feel comfortable.

How do I get there?

We are located at 245 Lexington Road, Waterloo, at the corner of Lexington and Davenport. Additional parking is available one block east of the church building.
